A site with a natural ‘bowl like’ landscape working its way towards the hauraki gulf is presented – an existing dwelling cut deep into it’s edge, damming the natural course of the water flowing down to the sea. We wished to form a new home integral to this landscape and flow – a computational model from a prior project is inversed to visualise a conceptual condition of flow over the natural and man-altered topography. A form has been designed which opens up the occlusion of landscape and water – framing a new passage within the new form. The reloaded landscape forms the circulation spaces of a new dwelling and gracefully allows water to trickle through to meet its natural path at its ends.
